The highlight of this route is a rest stop in Ironville at the Penfield Homestead Museum. Built in 1827 by Allen Penfield whose son, Captain James Penfield, was a Union officer in the Civil War. It features original artifacts from the Penfield family and other historic Crown Point homes, as well as exhibits covering the local iron industry, town history and involvement in the Civil War.
